Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern access to and use of novelday operated by Synspear (“Company”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

novelday is a digital subscription product. Diary writing and private reading are free. The Free plan includes one AI writing-style transformation per diary entry. Paid plans increase this to three and unlock anonymous diary sharing, inbox delivery, and related features described on the Pricing page. Features may change as we improve the product.

2. Accounts

1. You must complete our sign-up flow (including invite code where required) and social login (Google or Kakao).
2. You are responsible for your account security and for content you submit.
3. You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.

3. Paid plans & payments

1. Paid plans (e.g. Text, Image) and pricing are described on the Pricing page.
2. Payment processing may be entrusted to Toss Payments (or another payment provider contracted by the Company). Information necessary for payment authorization, cancellation, and settlement may be provided to that provider.
3. Subscriptions renew automatically for the selected interval (monthly or yearly) until you cancel renewal.
4. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

4. Content & AI

1. You retain rights to your original diary text, subject to the license needed for us to operate the Service.
2. AI outputs are generated automatically and may contain errors or unintended phrasing. We do not guarantee accuracy or fitness for a particular purpose.
3. Do not submit illegal, harmful, or infringing content. Do not abuse anonymity to harass or identify other users.

5. Anonymous sharing

Recipients of shared diaries receive transformed content and limited metadata, not your account identity or original text. You are responsible for not including identifying details in text you choose to transform or share.

6. Acceptable use & prohibited content

You must not submit or share content that involves any of the following, or otherwise abuse the Service:

• Child sexual exploitation or sexualization of minors
• Illegal pornography, non-consensual intimate imagery, or similarly harmful sexual content
• Content that promotes self-harm or suicide
• Instructions for violent crime, weapons, explosives, or illegal drug manufacture/trafficking
• Hate, threats, harassment, or doxxing
• Using anonymity to track, identify, or harass other users
• Spam, unauthorized automation, payment fraud, or invite-code abuse
• Attempts to disrupt or reverse-engineer the Service unreasonably

We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts when violations are detected through automated checks and/or manual review.

7. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate access for Terms violations. You may request account deletion via synspear.dev@gmail.com. Some records may be retained where required by law or for already-delivered shared content.

8. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is”. We are not liable for outages outside our reasonable control, disputes between users, or damages arising solely from AI output quality, except where caused by our willful misconduct or gross negligence or where liability cannot be limited by law.

9. Privacy

Personal data is handled under our Privacy Policy.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
